Don’t Slam the Door

Poor lady and her family
on the ground floor,
waiting each day
for the slam of the door:

swinging out from a hand,
it hurtles like a man,
frenetic, carnivorous,
blood-thirsty, murderous,

a force of terror
let loose on mankind.

Deaf, dumb, blind.

  1. Kate Tempest is the one.
    “And the days are all dust
    and the only thing worse
    than losing the trust
    of a lover is finding the rust
    in their kiss.”
